Firstly, the symptoms of social anxiety are nuanced for every individual. The root cause and desired outcome determines the treatment pathway. Secondly, social anxiety can be well managed and, in many cases, unlearned with coaching and therapy.
How do I become an Empowered Woman?
There are six practices to incorporate into your life to empower yourself as a woman. Once you have standardised these practices you can optimise them to elevate to newer heights of empowerment.
Practice One: Develop Self Worth
Write a brag list of all your accomplishments, triumphs, victories, characteristics, and personality traits. Reflect into your childhood and find all the examples leading to the present day. Write succinct lists so it’s easy to flick through and read each one. These serve as a reminder who you are able to become when you put your mind to it.
Practice Two: Develop Values
Write down the values from which you would like to operate in life. If you already have values, then use this as an opportunity to review them. If they hold meaning for you then continue, amend if necessary. Your values should reflect how you treat yourself and others. They also reflect how you wish to be treated.
Practice Three: Set Short Term Goals
Goal setting and goal getting are ways to demonstrate to yourself that you have a vision for the person you want to become, and you have the tenacity to do the empowered work. Demonstrating to yourself that you are capable and worthy of elevating your life is a certain way to become empowered.
Practice Four: Build A Network Of Elevated People
Realise the company you keep has a profound impact and influence on you. Every few months reach out to ordinary people who are living life in a way you aspire. They may be consistently doing the thing you really want to do, or they may have mindset you admire. Ask them how they are doing so well and show them both interest and respect. Being connected to elevated people is a sure way to becoming empowered.
Practice Five: Work On Self-Confidence
It doesn’t matter which stage of life you are at; everyone can benefit from a boost of confidence. Reflect on the things you’re putting off or shy away from. Reflect on the skills you wish you had but fear failing. Imagine if you took the first step, overcame fear, developed skills or experience, and then mastered it, how will that boost your confidence? Start small but commit to start somewhere.
Practice Six: Embrace Your feminine Energy
This practice requires you to look inward. What gives you energy? What inspires you? Are you truly living to who you are or are you pleasing others? What do you love or admire about yourself? Reflecting on these points regularly cultivates a nurturing relationship with yourself. Feminine energy is free-flowing and does not abide by social norms. You’re able to sense and listen to your intuition and creativity. You’re able to collaborate and express yourself with ease. You’re unapologetically yourself and empowered.
How do I get started?
Start by making a commitment to becoming more empowered. You can write it in your diary or simply say it to yourself. Then select one practice every few weeks. Once one practice is standardised into your life, you can stack another practice. Over a few months, you will have curated a blueprint to self-empowerment. You’ll start to develop a deeper knowledge of yourself. Knowledge is power. Self- knowledge is the ultimate source of power.
Empowered women know their worth and value. They are unapologetically themselves and accept they may have blind spots. It’s for each of us to know and believe that we are the creators of our life. We have the power to focus more on what we want more off.
